Museum Geopark Batur is a really worthwhile stop if you want a quick introduction to the area. I liked how it brought together the geology, culture, and natural history of Kintamani in a way that was easy to follow. It made the rest of my visit feel much more meaningful, and I’d suggest starting here before exploring the surrounding area.

Honestly, when I first saw the building from the outside, I wasn’t expecting much. But once inside, even though the museum feels a bit dated and somewhat run-down, it’s fascinating to learn about the history of Bali—especially its geological and geographical development. You gain a tremendous amount of insight into the island. The staff are extremely friendly, and there’s a lot to explore. I would definitely recommend a visit to any tourist who is interested in learning more about Bali’s natural history and how the island was formed.

We came here in early morning, just 17 minutes from the place we stayed. For the ticket, 10K for local, and 50 for foreigner. The place was very informative but needed more little light. (Or maybe it just too early). Every details had its own notes and story behind. It really worth to stop bye a moment before explore Kintamani.

As a one off ten Geopark in Indonesia. It become a good place esp for student to learn. But I guess need to add an interactive media.

Price: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ One of the biggest perks of visiting Museum Geopark Batur is that there’s no ticket fee, making it budget-friendly for anyone interested in learning more about the area's geological history. Whether you're a solo traveler or with family, the fact that it's free makes it an easy stop if you're exploring the Kintamani region. Location: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ The museum is located in the scenic area of Kintamani, right near the majestic Mount Batur, which adds to its appeal. The surrounding views of the volcano are breathtaking, and it’s not far from other tourist spots in the region, so you can easily combine it with other activities in the area. Use grab or gojek for transport. Fun/Entertainment: ⭐⭐ This is where the experience falls short. While the museum does have some interesting facts about the volcano and geological formations, the lack of interactive exhibits, especially ones in working condition, makes the visit feel underwhelming. Many of the media and audio-visual displays were either out of order or poorly maintained, which really detracts from the overall experience. There’s also limited information available in English, which might make it less enjoyable for non-Indonesian visitors. It’s definitely more of an educational stop than an entertainment hub. Facilities: ⭐⭐ The museum is basic when it comes to facilities. While the washrooms are functional, they’re not particularly modern or well-stocked. There are no cafes or food options inside, so if you’re planning a visit, be sure to bring water or snacks. The museum could really benefit from some updates to its displays and better maintenance of its existing technology. Overall Experience: ⭐⭐⭐ If you're already in the area and have an interest in volcanoes and geology, the Museum Geopark Batur can provide you with some useful information about the region's volcanic history. However, it's not something you need to go out of your way for unless you're really into geological studies. The lack of working exhibits and limited English content makes it hard for many visitors to fully appreciate what the museum has to offer. In the end, it’s a quick stop but not an essential one on your Bali itinerary.
