Did the Sunrise Trek back in Oct 2025. One of the coolest things I did in Bali...and the hardest. At 57 years old, I think I was the oldest person on the trail. My little guide, Jero Anom, was awesome. He let me go at my own pace, I got passed a lot, but got me to the top in time. It was a good thing i'd been training at 8,000 ft for this hike. Otherwise I would not have made it. It was very crowded at the very top so we stopped at one of the benches on the "people terrace" to watch the sunrise. When we got there it was all overcast, but as the sun popped over the mountain it cleared for a beautiful sunrise. Jero knew just how to take the perfect pics as well. He cooked us breakfast - a hard boiled egg (which ended up with the monkies cuz after that hike I wasn't able to eat it) and a banana sandwhich which was quite tasty. After most people had left and started back down we went all the way to the top. We loved watching the monkees up there, so much fun. The hike down was easy and fast. This is not for the casual tourist.

Best sunrise I have ever seen! Left the hostel at 3am and went to the BST centre. Then from there we had assigned guide - Doni who was also very attentive to each of us. Took us to the peak and breakfast served there. We had 1 hour there and then returned back to the BST centre. Going up was a bit difficult - volcanic rockslides, however we returned back from the wader path though the forest. Recommended for everyone!

I would recommend it absolutely, schedule of climb is perfectly made to see sunrise from top which is absolutely stunning, wouldn’t recommend it for beginners or a bit weaker in stamina people but it’s pretty ease mountain to climb and we even had a little guest on top. (I explained more below)

The hike up Mount Batur is very easy, nothing difficult at all. The only hard part is waking up at 2 a.m. Other than that, the climb is manageable and totally fine.

Definitely a touristic point of view even with the 2 hours of climbing
