The place itself, nestled in the bamboo forest, is gorgeous and has a lot of potential. While there isn't much variety on the menu, the prices are quite fair for the location. The noodles are homemade, not the premade Indomie that most warungs serve. However, beware of the grilled chicken (ayam bakar): it isn't actually charcoal-grilled, but boiled and then pan-fried (I asked the staff to confirm). The noodles were a bit overcooked for my taste, but the food was good overall. Unfortunately, I was really disappointed that smoking is allowed in such a fresh, beautiful natural setting. I have allergies, and even though it's an outdoor space, there were many people smoking, which ruined the fresh air. Another issue was a European man in Camo outfit who peed outside, right in front of the toilet, without even trying to hide. I could see him directly from my table, which was really disgusting. I wish the staff had called him out, as that kind of behavior is unacceptable! Aside from these human-made disturbances, the experience was good. I would also suggest adding better lighting at some of the tables, as it was quite dark even at lunchtime 1:00 PM.
View on GoogleThe bamboo forest at Panglipuran is magical. Walking through the tall, swaying bamboo feels peaceful and refreshing, with cool shade and soft breezes that make the whole scene unforgettable. It’s beautifully maintained, quiet, and gives you a real sense of nature’s charm right next to the village
View on GoogleBest decision to take the lunch combo! We visited Penglipuran Village and opted for the lunch combo along with our entry tickets & it turned out to be the best decision! The Bamboo restaurant has a stunning ambience, completely surrounded by bamboo trees. Having lunch in that atmosphere was a real treat. The food was really, really good and we truly enjoyed our time here. Highly recommend grabbing the combo!
View on GoogleWe didn't eat there , we just went to the forest , I am huge fan of nature , took my shoes off and walked around. You need to pay extra 10,000 or 15,000 with welcoming drinks to enter the forest. Penglipuran Village tickets don't include the bamboo forest.
View on GoogleBamboo Forest is a nice little spot near Penglipuran Village. There’s an additional entrance fee of around 10k/person, and there’s also a cafe inside the Bamboo Forest. The bamboo surroundings are beautiful and peaceful. Making it a nice place for photos and a short walk. Also get a traditional Balinese welcome drink, which was a nice touch. Unfortunately, my cafe experience wasn’t great. I ordered food and drink and confirmed directly from the same cashier/person that the chicken satay came with rice. The drink arrived after 10 minutes, but after waiting around 30 minutes , the food still hadn’t arrived. When I asked, the cashier said they had only heard the drink order. Hopefully, the staff can improve their order-taking and communication, especially during busy hours. Maybe a little more mineral water for better focus? 😄💧 Nice atmosphere, but the service could definitely be improved.
