I had such a great experience at Nasi Tempong Indra! The restaurant was very spacious, which made it feel comfortable and relaxed. The chicken was super yummy and perfectly crispy. The tiny salted fish that come with the plate looked super crispy and were perfectly salty and delicious as well — such a good addition. Honestly, everything we ordered was really yummy. I didn’t realize at first that you’re supposed to eat with your hands, so that made it even more of an experience! It felt authentic and fun once I got into it. They’re known for their spicy sambal and let me tell you… it was SPICYYY 🌶️🔥 — but in the best way. If you love heat, you’ll be very happy here. Definitely worth a visit!

Tempong Indra — The Spicy Tempong Everyone Talks About 🌶️🔥 Finally made it to Tempong Indra during my Bali trip! The restaurant is always busy, which says a lot about its popularity. It’s a non-AC dining space, so it can get quite warm, and the seating is fairly close together—but people keep coming back for the food. Nasi Tempong Gurame My favorite. The fried gourami arrived hot with perfectly crispy skin. It’s served with fried tofu, tempeh, boiled vegetables, eggplant, chayote, fresh vegetables, crispy anchovies, and their signature sambal with a squeeze of lime. The sambal is the real star—fresh, intensely spicy, and seriously addictive. Nasi Tempong Udang The prawns were generously sized, fresh, and perfectly cooked. A great choice if you prefer seafood. Nasi Tempong Ayam Available in both quarter and half-chicken portions, making it easy to choose based on your appetite. Crispy on the outside while remaining juicy inside. Nasi Tempong Empal The beef was served in thick slices with a tender texture, making it another satisfying protein option. Fried Squid (À La Carte) A must-order side dish. The squid was fresh, tender, and even came with roe, adding extra flavor and texture. If you love bold Indonesian flavors and don’t mind a sambal that packs a serious punch, Tempong Indra is definitely worth the visit. Just be prepared to sweat—but mostly because of the sambal! 🌶️🐟🍚

I stopped by for lunch and they immediately got me a seat even though the place is quite packed. The food and drink came out very quickly upon order and the place is really nice and clean. I ordered 1/4 chicken nasi tempong and it was really delicious. Beware of the sambal though, since it is very spicy (but very good! I finished mine). Recommended tempong place!

A must try local food spot in Bali, especially if you love spicy food. The sambal tempong here is seriously powerful and full of flavor. There are plenty of menu options like chicken, duck, catfish, gourami, squid, shrimp, sea fish, empal, and ati ampela, so you can always come back and try something new. The portions are generous and the prices are very reasonable. The place is simple but clean. Even when it gets crowded, the service is fast and well organized, so the queue moves quickly. The location is easy to find on Google Maps, with a fairly large parking area at the back for cars

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ | Nasi Tempong Indra, Bali Authentic and delicious Indonesian food, especially if you love spicy dishes. The sambal here is seriously powerful — fresh, flavorful, and not for the faint-hearted. Portions are generous and everything tasted well-prepared and comforting. The fried chicken was crispy, the vegetables were fresh, and the combination with the sambal was just perfect. Service was fast and the place was always busy, which says a lot about how popular it is with locals and tourists alike. Prices are very reasonable for the quality and portion. Highly recommended if you want to experience real local flavors in Bali.
