I made a reservation for one person at 8:15 PM and arrived a little early, but the staff were kind enough to seat me before my reserved time. The ambience was lovely. There was upbeat music playing, but it wasn't too loud, making it easy to enjoy a conversation. The dim lighting also gave the restaurant a warm and cosy atmosphere, perfect for a relaxing dinner. For my meal, I ordered the sate tofu, rendang terong, nasi merah, and finished with the Beng Beng cheesecake for dessert. I never expected tofu and eggplant to taste that good! Both dishes were incredibly flavourful and beautifully prepared. The highlight of the evening, however, was definitely the Beng Beng cheesecake. It was rich, indulgent, and absolutely delicious. I was tempted to order a second serving, and honestly, I would happily return just for that dessert alone. The 20-minute Gojek ride from Seminyak was absolutely worth it. A wonderful dining experience, and I'd definitely recommend Ulekan to anyone looking for delicious Indonesian cuisine in a beautiful setting.
View on GoogleMust try for authentic Balinese cuisine with good quality ingredients. Great drinks and cocktail selection as well. We ordered Beef Rendang, BBQ Pork Belly, Nasi Goreng, curry chicken. Meat was super tender, flavour explodes in your mouth. Super mouthwatering and will definitely bring friends here! Highly recommend~
View on GoogleEasily one of our favourite meals in Bali. The wood-roasted chicken was the absolute star—a dish we’ll be talking about for a long time! The atmosphere was gorgeous, the Pinot Noir was excellent, and we left very full and very happy. An all-round fabulous dining experience.
View on GoogleThe restaurant itself is beautiful and has a really cool, stylish vibe. We were shown to our table straight away and were able to order drinks immediately. Unfortunately, the service was a bit inconsistent. My drink arrived quite quickly, but we then waited around 15 minutes before we were even given the food menu. My husband’s drink still hadn’t arrived by that point and only came after we had already ordered our food. That was a little disappointing, especially as we would have liked to have our drinks together and make a toast. The food, however, was absolutely amazing — a solid 10/10. We ordered quite a lot and everything came surprisingly quickly. During the meal, the staff checked on us several times to ask if everything tasted good, which was nice, although it felt a little strange considering how difficult it had been to get the drinks and menus beforehand. Another thing we didn’t really enjoy was how quickly the table was cleared. We had literally just finished eating and almost immediately everything was taken away, which made us feel slightly rushed, as if they wanted to turn the table over quickly. Overall, the food and atmosphere were fantastic and we really enjoyed both. The service, however, could definitely be improved. With a little more attention to timing — especially bringing drinks together, handing out menus sooner and giving guests a moment after finishing their meal — this could have been a really great experience.
View on GoogleThis place is AWESOME! We had - Pork belly satay; charred perfectly with the right amount of flavors seasoned - Chicken curry with that thick, creamy and tasty sauce - goes well with the local produced rice - Lamb shank rendang. Those were tender as tofu and packed with flavor too! - Clams; were cooked to perfection and great appetizers to have - Indonesian inspired cheesecake with chocolate and nuts as dessert - Cocktails were great too; we got a couple but the one that was most memorable was the madu arak! Overall great place to go to and I would highly recommend!
