On busy street but behind the cafe has some amazing hidden rice fields. The place is very well designed with great choice of French bakery. Donut with strawberry filled is amazing. Recommend to sit back and relax. The waiters are friendly and the place has plenty of spaces to chill out with both indoor and outdoor area. Hidden place ! Love it

Visited Monsieur Spoon, one of those OG Bali café spots that was super popular back in the 2010s. I still remember the days when Monsieur Spoon hadn’t opened in Jakarta yet — and you had to go all the way to Bali just to enjoy their pastries. It definitely holds that nostalgic “must-visit tourist café” status from that era. I came here during the pre-COVID period, so it wasn’t as crowded as it used to be, which made the experience more relaxed and enjoyable. I ordered their Green Detox (cold-pressed juice with cucumber, pineapple, spinach, and lime). It was super refreshing — light, clean, and slightly tangy from the pineapple and lime, with a subtle green taste from the spinach. Perfect for a Bali morning. Of course, I also had to get their pastries. Flaky, buttery, and well-executed — exactly what you’d expect from a French-style bakery. It’s simple, but done right. Overall, Monsieur Spoon is one of those places that brings back memories of Bali’s café scene back in the day. Even now, it still holds its charm as a solid spot for pastries and a relaxed breakfast vibe 🥐✨

Visited on March 13, 2026. Had lunch here and each menu we ordered was spot on; from the fried duck to the tongseng, to the fried chicken skin. It would have been 5 stars had it not been for the state of the washroom. The toilet + sink area needs massive improvement in terms of cleanliness. For what they charge in food and beverage, it’s shocking to see the state of the restroom. Apparently the toilet issue has been noted by many previous reviewers even from as far as 2 years ago. Sad that it hasn’t improved. It’d also be nice to have the sink outside of the toilet area.
