As a Balinese, dining at Kaum Restaurant in Potato Head was such a meaningful experience. We chose the “Karangan” menu, a beautifully curated dining journey inspired by the Balinese tradition of communal feasting, thoughtfully reimagined by Chef Wayan. Every dish told a story of Bali’s rich culinary heritage while staying true to its authentic roots. My absolute favorite was the Lawar Celeng. It was incredibly authentic, perfectly seasoned, and easily one of the best I’ve ever had. You can truly taste the respect for tradition in every bite. I also absolutely loved the Tamarind Guava mocktail. It was refreshing, perfectly balanced, and paired beautifully with every course. The subtle sweetness and tanginess complemented the bold, rich flavors of the food so well that it elevated the entire dining experience. Beyond the outstanding food and drinks, the entire experience was immersive, heartfelt, and beautifully executed. It wasn’t just a meal; it was a celebration of Balinese culture and flavors. As someone who was born and raised in Bali, I deeply appreciated the authenticity and care behind every dish. An unforgettable dining experience that I would happily recommend to anyone looking to discover the true essence of Balinese cuisine.

Too expensive, portions too small, BUT generally tasty and elevated. Fancy / elevated Indonesian cuisine. Nice ambiance and you could hang out at the beach club later on too. Cocktail flight was a nice adventure but not all tasty. Staff could have done better at explaining the cocktail flight. Able to seat large groups (reservations recommended).

Food is GREAT! Every dish is so flavorful, even the nasi bira on its own can knock your socks off. The gohu ikan tuna and the octopus are show stoppers and I am sure every single bite was followed promptly by ‘mmmm’. But holy moly the pisang dessert! Anything that is sweet, savory, and nutty is always a win in my books, and this is hands down the best dessert I’ve had so far at Potato Head! The amount of food here is probably better suited for groups. But no way I’m sharing the pisang. Also worth noting the indoors is quite cold even before sundown, so maybe bring a jacket or load up on the sambal!

Bali has always been our go-to destination for celebrating our wedding anniversary, as it was one of the stops on our honeymoon 30 years ago. This visit was made even more special by Kaum Bali with its delicious food and excellent service. The experience was seamless from booking to arrival. We appreciated receiving both an email confirmation and a personal email. Upon reaching the vast Potato Head complex, we were warmly guided through the attractions and beach club before being welcomed at Kaum Bali with friendly smiles. We were given a table at a beautiful corner table with stunning views of the sunset, beach, and beach club. All the dishes were excellent, with the Rendang, Octopus, and Gado Gado being our favourites. The surprise anniversary dessert and shots were a delightful and thoughtful touch. Special thanks to Kelvin (not sure the spelling), Wahyu, and Alfin for their attentive service and lovely conversations. We will definitely return next year if time permits. Thank you, Kaum Bali, for making our anniversary celebration so memorable.

A lovely restaurant above the Potato Head Beach Club. Stunning sea views. A commendable approach to offering upmarket Indonesian cuisine alongside all the avocado toast and international dishes. The menu provides a wonderful insight into various Indonesian flavours and traditional dishes. Only the dessert was a bit too contrived and heavy with all the nuts. It would be great to see more courage in embracing local flavours here. Staff are super friendly and helpful. Very reasonable prices.
