Stayed at the villa behind Grass Grain and decided to give it a try despite it being empty on a Tuesday evening and also because we were too lazy to walk. BEST DECISION EVER. This place is so underrated because everything we had were not only up to par, it exceeded our expectations completely. I dare say I have a discerning palate, so here is my critic: 1. Prawn and chorizo parpadelle Fat from chorizo was the winner to tying everything together. Would have preferred the presentation to be on a bigger plate. 2. Mahi Mahi burger It's so hard to do Mahi Mahi well and this place nailed it. Medium, succulent, paired with tomato jam and pickles, it's all you could ask for complete with toasty buns and homemade mayonnaise (what???). 3. Asian style pork belly Is my grandma hiding in the kitchen because the broth that came with the pork belly tasted like someone has been toiling in the kitchen cooking this for the past 24 hours. Melt-in-your-mouth EVERYTHING. Radish, carrot, pork meat, pork fat. Mop everything up with the toast, PLEASE. Best friend who ate this with me is picky with food and she loved everything. Very attentive staff, and honestly, one of the best finds in Bali. 12/10 will recommend and return. In fact, we can't wait for breakfast tomorrow!
