We recently spent five magical days at Hotel Tugu in Bali, and it exceeded every expectation. From the moment you step inside, you're transported to another world — one that celebrates the beauty, history and culture of Bali in every detail. The hotel sits in a fantastic location, just a two-minute walk from Canggu beach and the buzz of the surrounding bars, cafes and clubs, yet once you're inside, the chaos outside melts away and you're wrapped in serenity and magic. The gardens are lush and beautifully maintained, and the rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated — the bed is one of the most comfortable we've ever slept in. Our bathroom opened straight onto a private pond complete with koi, and having our own private pool gave us a perfect little sanctuary to relax in. The main pool is stunning too, tucked within the gardens and surrounded by greenery — a peaceful spot to cool off and unwind. Breakfast, enjoyed on the rooftop overlooking the ocean, offered a lovely mix of healthy, local and western options. Dinner at IWA restaurant was a highlight — a beautifully served local banquet and a fantastic way to experience the incredible flavours of Bali. The hotel itself feels like a living museum, and we loved simply wandering the grounds admiring the art and artefacts. With more time, we'd have loved to join the walking tour to learn even more about the hotel's remarkable history. We also enjoyed two massages at the spa — both wonderful, and our only regret is not booking in for more! Every member of staff was fantastic: professional, welcoming, warm and fun. Service across the board was excellent. Huge credit to hotel management for creating such a peaceful, romantic and calming oasis. We will absolutely return to Hotel Tugu, and can't wait to explore other Tugu properties around the world. Thank you all for such a wonderful stay.

This hotel surpassed all of my expectations. The room was incredible and the property was magical. But the best part were the staff. Not only did they somehow remember my name, but they always seemed to be able to anticipate what I'd need every day. They were the most friendly staff I've ever encountered at a hotel in all of my travels around the world. Also the food was great, and the massage was excellent. I read some reviews about noise from clubs but I didn't think it was a big deal. The location is perfect for walking out the door to the beach and taking in the city. When I come back to Canggu, I'll be staying here again, without question.

Hotel Tugu Bali was without question the highlight of my time in Canggu and one of the most memorable hotel stays I’ve had anywhere. The hotel feels like a peaceful sanctuary tucked away in busy Canggu, beautifully maintained grounds, lily ponds, stunning Indonesian artwork and architecture, and such a calming atmosphere throughout the property. My Dedari suite was absolutely gorgeous, with a private plunge pool and so many thoughtful details that made the stay feel special and authentic rather than generic luxury. What really stood out to me though was the level of care and thoughtfulness behind the guest experience. The breakfasts were superb with beautiful rooftop views overlooking the surfers each morning, afternoon tea was a lovely inclusion, and I especially loved the in-room tea and coffee setup with sealed jars of Kawisari coffee, organic cinnamon tea, honey, palm sugar and a proper plunger rather than instant coffee sachets. Complimentary sparkling water in the fridge was another thoughtful touch. One operational detail I particularly appreciated was that housekeeping serviced the room while guests were at breakfast, so it was always lovely returning to a refreshed room afterwards without disruption. Even while some renovation works were underway during my stay, the team managed everything extremely thoughtfully and kept disturbance to an absolute minimum. The staff throughout the hotel were incredibly warm, kind and attentive, and the farewell gift of bottled water for my onward journey was such a thoughtful and personal gesture. I also loved the hotel’s location,— close enough to enjoy everything Canggu has to offer, while still feeling peaceful and restorative away from the chaos. It truly felt like a slice of zen in Canggu. I would absolutely stay here again and would also love to experience other Tugu properties in Indonesia in future. Highly recommended for travellers looking for soulful, authentic luxury and genuine Balinese hospitality.

I loved staycation at this unique living museum hotel!||Hotel Tugu Bali is built inside reconstructed 311-year-old temple known as Bale Sutra. This wonderful hotel allows guests to discover museum-quality treasures, ancient sculptures, royal artifacts & architectural masterpieces.||It is located in the heart of Canggu, just steps from Batu Bolong Beach. So we enjoyed sunsets in Canggu without long walk there. ||We stayed at ‘Dedari suite’ with antique|canopy bed, a tropical plunge pool outside and a private spa area with a unique sunken bath in open-air bathroom, along with a dreamy traditional daybed. It was one of the most beautiful bathrooms I've ever seen with fish in the pond. Even key for the suite is creative and really big! So be ready to carry with your big bag :))||The property is famous for its lush, expansive tropical gardens, serene lotus ponds with cute fish and antique-filled courtyards. We really enjoyed to walk here. So you have some kind of private park in the area. ||At hotel you can choose any location on-site for your delicious breakfast. Once we even chose a wonderful gazebo with lilies. There we saw the best breakfast menu at hotels in Bali: you can choose 1 main, 2 side dishes, 1 fresh juice, 1 cup of tea / coffee + pastry plate. You can choose really interesting options for food and drinks here.||At Ji restaurant (Japanese cuisine from famous chefs with a popular terrace to see beautiful sunsets) and Dolan restaurant (dog friendly and family oriented with spacious outdoor park and live music on the weekend) I would advice to have a dinner. We spent there our evenings. ||Hotel has so beautiful area near the spacious pool to chill and relax. Apart from classical sunbeds you can find higher ones. Even shower and signs for restrooms here look antique and creative. ||There is a complimentary afternoon tea for guests of hotel: every day you will try new local food together with tea or coffee. My fav ones were with coconut milk. ||Don’t miss a walk through the night hotel: it acquired a new magical appearance. So you can be in a fairy tail ambiance just being at hotel. ||Staff were always attentive and kind. When we came, we got complimentary fruit platter, traditional bouquet and many deep rations with fresh flowers in the room. As well you will get welcome drink and have a special ceremony. There is a complimentary excursions for guests for hotel in the evening to know more about all masterpieces at hotel.
