Mind blowing experience! We arrived early in the morning to this location. There was plenty of parking at the time [not the same story after our excursion since the parking lot was full around mid day] as we took a small shuttle to the entrance of the park. After purchasing tickets in-person which I believe you can also do online we walked in and started exploring. Lots to see at this park, plenty of statues and gardens to gaze at and take pictures of including a Starbucks, yep a Starbucks was also onsite. The walk is pretty leisurely seeing that you can take your time at your own pace to explore and roam the area. Its a bit uphill to see the Garuda statue but again you can take breaks and walk at your own pace. We had people of different ages in our group and no one had a hard time with the short climb. Once at the top where the Garuda statue sits its just mind-blowing to see how gigantic the statue actually is. *Side note - from our hotel that we were staying at in Bali which had a rooftop bar and swimming pool one of the first things I noticed was an ominous shape far, far, far away which turns out was this Garuda statue. You can for an additional cost go inside the statue itself, there is an elevator that take you up to certain floors for a panoramic view of the entire park (We however didnt go up the elevator since we were on a bit of a time crunch and had to head back down to our next stop destination in Bali). The size and scale of this statue is immense, truly memorable. Highly recommend and definitely a must see spot if you find yourself hanging out in Bali.

We six friends visited this magestic place on 22.8.26. From the parking we took a shuttle bus for which there is separate tickets. Patung Garuda Wisnu Kencana (GWK) is the enormous statue and cultural park in Ungasan, South Bali. Patung means statue in Indonesian. The statue depicts Lord Vishnu (Wisnu) riding Garuda, the mythical eagle. It is about 122 metres high, including its pedestal, making it one of Bali's most prominent landmarks. The surrounding GWK Cultural Park has large limestone courtyards, cultural performances and viewpoints. The statue is particularly impressive from the base looking upward, and it is beautifully illuminated after sunset. We went inside. There is a lift service inside the statue which takes us right to the top of the statue for which there is another fees. You can generally reach the main viewing areas by shuttle/golf cart, which is useful if you want to minimize walking. We did take a shuttle ride from the parking and back to the cultural park to view the performances. Spent one hour there. Saw some cultural program inside and clicked photos

If you are a tourist visiting Bali, you must visit this place at least once in your lifetime. It always reminds me of my vacation here with all my friends and it's cool, comfortable, clean, bustling with tourists, and offers great cultural performances. Although the area is vast and requires some stamina for walking (though you can always rent a shuttle), the fatigue instantly vanishes once you see the GWK statue up close. The facilities are excellent, the restrooms are clean, and there are plenty of culinary options. A quick tip from me: try to visit in the late afternoon so it’s not too hot, and you can catch the regular free cultural shows. It’s truly a wonderful place to create beautiful memories with friends. Highly recommended!

We paid for the shuttle to get to the top, then walked back down and explored the rest of the park. Statues are amazing and hard to capture the grandeur of them in a photo. Was nice to read the information about their significance in the Hindu culture. Nice view from the top too. Lots of shops, eateries and merchandise at the bottom and easy to grab a Gojek to and from.

Patung Garuda Wisnu Kencana was one of the highlights of my visit to Bali. The statue is truly impressive, and the architecture throughout the park is beautiful and well designed. Everything was very clean, organized, and easy to explore. I recommend visiting in the morning or late afternoon when the weather is more comfortable. The entire complex is well maintained and provides a great insight into Indonesian culture and art. Definitely worth a visit.
