The most peaceful café I've ever been to. I can't recommend it highly enough, and I'll definitely be coming back again and again. From the moment I walked in, I was welcomed by the friendliest staff, who somehow remembered my name almost immediately. Everything here has been thoughtfully curated: calming music, beautiful artistic touches, the cutest little kittens wandering around, and comfortable floor cushions that make you want to stay for hours. The coffee is excellent, but what truly blew me away was the grass-fed tenderloin steak with grass-fed butter. Hands down the best steak I've had in Bali. You can really tell the owners care deeply about the quality of the ingredients they use, and that attention to detail shines through in every bite. This isn't just a café-it's a place that leaves you feeling peaceful, nourished, and genuinely happier than when you arrived. Whether you're looking to read a book, meditate, catch up with friends, or simply relax while hanging out with the adorable cats, this place is something special.
View on GoogleSon of a Baker was one of those places we stumbled upon and instantly fell in love with. The café has such a beautiful, laid-back vibe—calm, cozy, and the kind of place where you can happily spend an hour or two without realizing time has passed. The atmosphere alone makes it worth a visit. The almond croissant was absolutely incredible. Perfectly flaky, buttery, and fresh—it was easily one of the best pastries we’ve had during our time in Bali. Pair that with their perfectly made flat whites, and it made for an ideal breakfast stop. And then came the unexpected highlight—a friendly pet cat casually sitting on the counter, greeting everyone like the real owner of the café! It added such a charming and memorable touch to the whole experience and definitely put a smile on our faces. Amazing coffee, delicious pastries, a relaxing atmosphere, and wonderful little details that make the place feel special. We’ll definitely be back the next time we’re in Bali.
View on GoogleI loved this spot, it’s a very different vibe from other parts of Uluwatu and a good escape from the post-gym fitness crowd. I used to live in Istanbul… something about this place feels very Cihangir-bohemian. I can’t vouch for the coffee as I only had a salad.. but I could have spent hours here had it not been such great beach weather.
View on GoogleThis is my favorite morning spot in Uluwatu across the board in terms of quality of cafe drinks, brunch food, atmosphere and staff. The staff is sweet and very friendly. Barak is Awesome!! The drinks are amazing! The food is great. They open at 6am which is epic for the early risers. And the atmosphere is unique with so much character.
View on GoogleI came to Son of a Baker expecting proper Italian-inspired focaccia: golden, airy, dimpled with olive oil, crispy edges, soft chewy interior, maybe some rosemary or flaky salt doing its thing. You know… actual focaccia. What I received was a dry, sad, floppy pita-like wrap that had clearly given up on life long before it reached my takeaway box. It had the texture of cardboard that had been lightly misted with regret. No crisp bottom, no airy crumb, no signature olive oil sheen—just a pale, dense, underwhelming slab pretending to be bread. For the price they charge in a place that markets itself as an “Art & Bakehouse” with bohemian vibes and “everything made on the premises,” this was an insult to both focaccia and anyone who knows what good bread should be. It wasn’t even a good pita. Filling was just tomato, spinach and old shredded chicken. It was the kind of thing you’d get at a dodgy kebab shop at 3AM and still feel disappointed. Worst part is it’s four times the price of everything around it. Save your money and your expectations. Don’t fall for the scam. Go somewhere that actually knows the difference between focaccia and a depressed flatbread. Son of a Baker? More like Distant Cousin of a Son of a Baker That Doesn’t Know How To Make Focaccia or Pita.
