I Had to Review This Immediately! I’m still outside and already typing this. Last night we had a grand beachfront seafood buffet at one of those famous luxury resorts nearby and left oddly underwhelmed. Tonight, roadside at Ikan Bakar Vichi, balance returned. Humble setting, genuine hospitality, no theatrical polish. Just serious food. Grilled barramundi was tender and smoky with a sauce that had real personality. Kerang pedas came rich and aromatic with proper heat. Cumi goreng tepung was golden with a light, crisp batter that stayed crunchy, easily better than many I’ve had back home. Ayam woku delivered layered Balinese spices, fragrant and slightly fiery but controlled. Modestly priced for Nusa Dua. Lively but relaxed atmosphere. We left full, impressed, and slightly amused that the better seafood wasn’t at the beachfront resort but quietly winning by the roadside.
View on GoogleFresh and delicious food. We chose the fish from the cold box, and it was cooked in minutes. Other dishes took longer to arrive and were brought to the table a bit randomly. But you could see and taste that it was all cooked fresh. The cost was not expensive at all. The place isn't posh or fancy, but it's highly recommended for delicious food.
View on GoogleDuring our recent trip to Nusa Dua, we had an exceptional seafood dinner at Ikan Bakar Vichi with a group of six. Twice. What made the experience stand out was not only the quality of the food but the level of service and care from what seems to be a family-run restaurant. Earlier that morning, we called ahead to ask if lobster—something not on the regular menu—could be arranged. They went out of their way to source it fresh directly from local fishermen, and to our surprise, they even gave us one lobster for free. The lobster was prepared beautifully—grilled to perfection, full of flavor, and absolutely delicious. We also had grilled tiger prawns, scallops, grilled red snapper, grilled grupper, vegetables, and nasi. Everything was well-prepared and flavorful. The highlight, however, was the fried calamari. As a group that had tried calamari in several places throughout the trip, we all agreed these were the best by far—crispy, tender, and perfectly seasoned. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making the entire experience feel personal and relaxed. Ikan Bakar Vichi may not be fancy, but it offers fresh, delicious seafood and warm hospitality. If you’re visiting Nusa Dua, it’s well worth a visit.
View on GoogleIf you’re in Nusa Dua, don’t miss out on this restaurant. I initially came as another review said that this place had “local levels of spice” which I had been so craving. This restaurant became our go-to dinner spot so quickly and my favourite food of our whole trip! I’d highly recommend their ikan bakar, cumi pedas and udang tiger bakar! But if you can’t hack spicy food, please don’t test yourself here lol
View on GoogleAs a tourist it was really great to find this seafood restaurant. Especially the freshly grilled fish, which you can choose yourself, as well as the grilled tiger prawns were really great. Can only recommend!
