Overall summary (3/5): Old-school Cantonese restaurant with hits and misses, famous for signature roast goose. The food (3/5) We ordered the signature roast goose (至尊烧鹅皇) and the longevity ee-fu noodles (长寿伊面). The goose had good flavor from the gravy, but the texture wasn't consistent. Some pieces were tender but some parts were really hard to chew. The noodles on the other hand were rather plain and could use more flavor, although it was a decent portion for two people. The value (3.5/5) Prices are quite reasonable for what you get. The roast goose (至尊烧鹅皇) was 80 RMB and the noodles (长寿伊面) were 38 RMB. The portion sizes are big enough, so it still offers decent value for money. The service (1/5) The service staff assigned to our table was very inexperience. Totally lacked service and went missing in action from time to time. We had to keep reminding her just to get us the necessary utensils, and eventually had to find the manager to get the utensils that we needed. The environment (3.5/5) It looks like a typical, older Cantonese dining hall. The interior is dated and it gets pretty loud when the crowd comes in, but it has that authentic, lively neighborhood vibe. Location and Accessibility (4/5) Very convenient location on Yuexiu South Road (越秀南路). It is easy to find and only about a 150-meter walk from the Tuanida Square Subway Station Exit A (团一大广场), so getting here by transit is straightforward with Guangzhou Metro Line 6.

I do not know why people are recommending this place with so much positivity... I wouldn't have come if not for the positive google reviews. I patronised this place filled with regrets. The roast goose was too oily, meat was v tough (not at all tender)... i think people who eat here perhaps have not tasted roast goose in HK. The standard of their roast goose was subpar to say the least. I also ordered Red Wine Oxtail which was devoid of any wine taste but full of oil.... the garlic prawns & large intestines were nothing fantastic. I have added photos of the oil that remained (for the record, although it may seem like we finished the goose, we actually didn't. We took a bite, meat was tough and it was left uneaten.) I should have saved my calories for something more palatable, definitely less oily and more wholesome. Even my husband who loves fats & oily food gave their goose thumbs down 👎. I'm sorry but i need to be honest to give a more balanced account of the food standard.

Renowned for its succulent roast goose, this restaurant has earned a loyal following for its signature dish, celebrated for its crispy skin and tender, flavorful meat. Service tends to be lacking—while the staff gets the job done, don’t expect overly warm or attentive hospitality. Portions are hearty and generous, making it a great spot for sharing or getting your money’s worth—just come hungry! The ambiance is nostalgic and old-school, with a no-frills, traditional setting that feels like a step back in time.

Absolutely loved the roasted goose here! Also had a lovely chat with one of the staff here, and she recommended a few good places of interest. Would definitely come back here for more!

Very poor customer service and poorly maintained facilities. Most of the tables and equipment looked very old and outdated. The cashier was extremely rude. I had already paid a $200 deposit for my reservation, but she still asked me to pay the full amount again without deducting the deposit. When I questioned it, she told me I needed to provide proof and contact the person who made the reservation for me. It wasted a lot of my time trying to resolve a problem that should have been handled professionally by the restaurant staff. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Guangzhou has many restaurants with far better food, service, and overall dining experience than this old and poorly managed restaurant.
