I ordered the stew duck and aubergine with mince chicken and the server recommended scallops with vermicelli, which was delicious. True enough, your need to speak a bit of Mandarin or not they will treat you a bit abruptly. Mine is barely passable but it seems good enough for them to start recommending stuff and wait tentatively. But i can see how they will tend to shy if you cannot make simple communication. Food is good though
View on GoogleHalal restaurants. Tries the shrimp dumpling and beef rib. Very good. Dumpling is awesome and beef was so juicy and soft. Very good for Muslim visitors. Takes time to serve because freshly cooked
View on GoogleRating 5 stars overall considering it's very hard to get truly authentic pork-free/halal dimsum (at least outside of Malaysia). When I went, only the takeaway booth was open due to CNY, so I cannot speak for the restaurant experience. The takeaway menu was far smaller, but even as a picky eater I had lots of choice and it was still a great experience. Food prices were unbeatable, with a swarm of locals around the stand to prove it. The egg yolk bun and shrimp dumplings were my favourites, but everything was served piping hot and tasted good. For non-Chinese speakers, you will have to translate the takeaway menu and possibly communicate with gestures, but this really isn't an issue as people make out in some of these reviews! It's an authentic experience. As a Westener who has lived in HK I can also honestly say that the customer service for the takeaway was not at all bad, the Cantonese food culture is often just fast paced and less about building a customer relationship than in other cultures. I hope to come back for a dine in experience to see how it compares and try new dishes. Please don't be put off by bad reviews because unless you have no religious/dietary restrictions and can eat anywhere, it's 100% a must-try.
View on GoogleWe were scared to order because we can't speak Chinese and saw somebody's comment about being scold by the server. Luckily the aunty who took our order was super nice and helpful. We ordered based from pictures that we got from our friend and it was delicious. The portion for Chong fun was big. Thank you aunties. Will come back again
View on GoogleOne of the few easy to find dimsum/Chinese Muslim friendly restaurants. They have a different menu in the morning. I would definitely recommend this restaurant based on price/quality! You can take line 1 metro and leave at station 1/08 exit A.. will be like 2 minutes walking from there. You can find this place on the corner of the street and they have a little fastfood next to the main door. The restaurant itself it located on 1F
