Lotus Mountain is a national AAAA-level tourist area, a provincial-level scenic spot in Guangdong Province, and one of the eight scenic spots of Yangcheng in the new century. The Guanyin statue overlooking the sea was initiated by Mr. He Houhua, assisted by the He Xian Social Welfare Foundation and believers from all sides, and built by the Lotus Mountain Tourist Area. It is 40.88 meters high, cast with 120 tons of copper, and covered with 180 taels of pure gold foil on the outside. It was completed in 1994 and is currently the largest gold-plated copper Guanyin statue in the world. The glow covers the Lion Sea, shines on the southern sky, and the incense is prosperous. The ancient quarry site of Lotus Mountain is a witness to the 2200-year history of ancient Panyu. The stone materials were mostly used for building government offices, markets, ancestral halls, temples, tombs, etc., and have the reputation of "source of city construction". From the Western Han Dynasty to the Qing Dynasty for more than two thousand years, the ancestors of Nanyue, with one chisel and one axe, "carved" the winding stone landscape wonders of several kilometers "man-made unintentionally surpassing natural craftsmanship", especially Yanziyan, Lotus Stone, Lion Stone, Baixiangyan, Baxianyan, Feiyingya, etc., which can be called a historical treasure of "hard work to build the country", and is a national key cultural relic protection unit.
